Historic Success in KC
Orlando has enjoyed success on the road against Kansas City, losing just one of five all-time away matches against the Current (2W-2D-1L). Since Kansas City began playing at CPKC Stadium ahead of the 2024 NWSL season, the Pride remain the only team to hand the Current a regular-season home loss at the venue, doing so with a 2-1 victory on July 6, 2024.
Record-Setting Form
Barbra Banda continued her historic 2026 campaign in Sunday’s 3-0 win over Houston, converting a first-half penalty for her 14th goal of the season. The strike established a new Orlando Pride club record for most goals scored by a player in a single NWSL season, surpassing the previous mark of 13 regular-season goals set by Marta in 2017 and matched by Banda during the 2024 campaign. The goal also made Banda just the fifth player in NWSL history to score 10 or more home goals in a single season.
Center of the Attack
Barbra Banda played a role in all three Orlando goals in Sunday's win over Houston, converting a penalty kick and assisting Haley McCutcheon after a Houston own goal opened the scoring. Banda has been directly involved in 17 of the Pride's 28 player-scored goals this season, recording 14 goals and three assists.
Career High for Haley
Haley McCutcheon continued her strong 2026 campaign on Sunday, scoring Orlando’s third goal in a 3-1 victory over Houston. The midfielder combined with Barbra Banda on a one-two before firing a left-footed volley into the top corner, capping off a standout attacking sequence. The strike marked McCutcheon’s fourth goal of the season, establishing a new single-season career high after she scored three goals in both the 2024 and 2025 campaigns.
Lekven Makes Debut
Forward Sanne Lekven made her Orlando Pride debut after entering as a second-half substitute in the 78th minute of the Pride's 3-1 victory over the Houston Dash. The 25-year-old joined Orlando on Aug. 11 from Aalesunds FK of Norway's Toppserien, the topflight of Norwegian women's soccer.
