As the Pride host Bay FC, here are five things to watch for
Beating the Bay
Orlando Pride has won all three previous meetings with Bay FC by 1-0 scorelines. This is the fifth time an NWSL team has recorded three straight 1-0 wins over another and the first since Utah beat the Washington Spirit 1-0 three straight times in 2018–19. No team has ever recorded four straight wins against a single opponent via 1-0 scoreline.
You Scream, Ice Cream
After a scoreless first half in the Pride’s last match against Chicago, the two sides traded goals just minutes after the break. Carson Pickett scored in her second consecutive match after also finding the back of the net against LD Alajuelense earlier in the week, while Haley McCutcheon netted her third goal of the season. McCutcheon also tallied an assist on the Pickett finish, while Julie Doyle earned her first assist of the 2025 campaign on the McCutcheon goal.
Cool Kidz Only
Haley McCutcheon scored her third goal of the season on Sunday against the Stars, more than she managed in her first six NWSL regular seasons combined (2). McCutcheon now has as many goal contributions in 19 games in 2025 (three goals and two assists) as she recorded across her first 130 NWSL matches over six seasons (two goals and three assists).
“Don’t You Worry Child”
Recent signing Jacquie Ovalle made her Pride debut after joining the Club last month from Tigres UANL Femenil for a then-world-record transfer fee, entering the match at the start of the second half.
2024 Championship Rings
The Orlando Pride hosted a private championship ring ceremony on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Inter&Co Stadium to commemorate the Club’s historic 2024 season. The custom-designed rings pay tribute to the team’s record-breaking achievements, unwavering spirit, and the unforgettable journey that led to becoming the first professional sports team from Orlando to capture a major league title.
