Home Sweet Home

Following a two-game road trip, Orlando City B is back home at Osceola County Stadium to take on New England Revolution II on Wednesday, April 9. It will be a quick homestand for the Lions as the team will hit the road again to take on intrastate foes Inter Miami CF II next Tuesday, April 15. OCB split its two road fixtures, winning at Crown Legacy FC in North Carolina but falling to Chattanooga FC in the Volunteer State. A bounce back win at home is the focus for the Lions going into Wednesday night’s Eastern Conference showdown against Revs II.

Making His Debut

In the 70th minute of Saturday night’s match against Chattanooga FC, midfielder Riyon Tori made his Orlando City B debut, coming on as a second-half substitute. The Japanese international played collegiately at both St. John’s University and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte before being selected with the No. 83 overall pick in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft by Orlando City SC. In February, OCB signed Tori to a one-year MLS NEXT Pro contract through 2025.

Stuck in the Standings

Heading into this week of MLS NEXT Pro matches, just three points separate the top five 2025 sides in the Eastern Conference standings. Orlando City B currently sits tied with both NYCFC II and New England Revolution II, with each club possessing eight points. However, a win on Wednesday evening against Revs II would push OCB up the standings and see the team enter a tie for first with Chattanooga FC, at 11 points to date on the season.

Déjà Vu

Last Saturday night’s match marked the first time since June of 2024 that Orlando City B lost a game despite recording more shots and shots on goal than the opposition. The Lions had one more shot and two more shots on goal than Chattanooga FC but just couldn’t find the back of the net to get on the scoreboard. OCB will look to capitalize on its scoring chances and take the win over New England Revolution II on Wednesday night at Osceola County Stadium and stay undefeated at home in the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro campaign.
