Heart of a Lion

Orlando City B showed true resilience in last Saturday’s match against Chattanooga FC. After conceding a goal just one minute into the second half and going down to 10 men following a red card in the 58th minute, the young Lions faced an uphill battle. With their backs against the wall, they responded with heart and determination, scoring two unanswered goals, including a dramatic stoppage-time strike from midfielder Shak Mohammed to take a late lead. Although Chattanooga equalized in the seventh minute of second-half stoppage time and edged OCB in the end-of-regulation shootout, Orlando City B walked away with a hard-earned point and a performance that embodied the spirit and fight of the club.

Three for the Tie

With his assist on Shak Mohammed’s stoppage-time equalizer against division rival Chattanooga FC, midfielder Gustavo Caraballo recorded his third assist of the season, tying the club lead. After receiving the ball out wide from Mohammed, Caraballo delivered a pinpoint cross back to him, which Mohammed volleyed home to give OCB a late one-goal lead. Caraballo now sits at three assists in the 2025 campaign, level with forward Justin Ellis despite appearing in four fewer matches.

On Cloud Nine

Orlando City midfielder Shak Mohammed has reignited his scoring form, finding the back of the net in each of the last two matches, including his ninth goal of the season against Chattanooga FC last Saturday. His nine goals have come in nine appearances for OCB, with Mohammed scoring in back-to-back matches on four separate occasions in 2025. The 21-year-old is now just two goals shy of matching his 2024 season total of 11 and will look to break into double digits in Sunday’s match against Columbus Crew 2.

Buck-ing the Trend

For the first time since the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro regular season opener, Orlando City B will square off against Columbus Crew 2 in the second and final meeting between the sides. OCB claimed victory in the first matchup at Osceola County Stadium back in March. With a win already in hand, the Lions will look to sweep the season series and earn their first-ever road win against Columbus in the Buckeye State. A victory would also propel the Lions into an Eastern Conference playoff position with only a handful of matches remaining.
