Here are five storylines to watch for Saturday's match as the Lions face Charlotte FC on the road:

Lucky Number Seven

Since 2023, Orlando City has gone seven straight matches without a regulation loss against Charlotte FC. Following their defeat in the 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, Orlando has recorded three wins and four draws in this matchup. Notably, all three victories came at home, while all four draws occurred on the road. In their most recent encounter on May 14 at Inter&Co Stadium, the Lions secured a convincing 3-1 win over Charlotte. Now, Orlando City aims to extend its unbeaten streak and earn its first road victory in the Queen City since 2022.

Pašalić Pouring It On

With his late goal against FC Cincinnati last Saturday, forward Marco Pašalić became just the eighth player in Orlando City’s MLS era to reach double-digit goals in their debut season. The Croatian international has tallied 10 goals and five assists across all competitions in 21 appearances so far in 2025, with at least 17 matches still remaining. A Designated Player signing, Pašalić is now eyeing a record-breaking first year in purple. He’ll look to surpass the debut campaign of former City standout Facundo Torres, who posted 13 goals and 12 assists in 2022.

Road Warriors

Orlando City will look to secure its third consecutive road victory on Saturday when it faces Charlotte FC at Bank of America Stadium. The Lions have been one of the league’s most resilient road teams in 2025, suffering just two losses in 10 away matches – one of only seven MLS clubs to hold that distinction in regular season play. With momentum on their side, the Lions aim to continue their strong form away from home against their Eastern Conference rivals before returning to Inter&Co Stadium for a two-match homestand beginning July 12.

Right Place at the Right Time

Midfielder Martín Ojeda continues to be a driving force in Orlando City’s attack, consistently finding himself at the heart of scoring opportunities. Whether delivering a pinpoint assist or finishing a chance himself, the Argentine playmaker has been a key contributor throughout the 2025 season. Ojeda has tallied nine goals and eight assists across all competitions, placing him tied for fourth in MLS for total goal contributions. He also ranks second in the league with 56 key passes, underscoring his creative influence in the final third. Since joining the Lions ahead of the 2023 season, Ojeda has recorded at least 16 goal contributions each year – and with 17 already in 2025, he’s on pace for his most productive season yet.

Five Saves is All It Takes

With five more saves against Charlotte FC on Saturday, goalkeeper Pedro Gallese will reach 500 saves for Orlando City across all competitions. He already holds the club record with 495 saves, and hitting the 500 mark would be a significant milestone in his time with the Lions. Gallese has played over 16,000 minutes for Orlando – second-most in club history – and ranks third in all-time appearances. So far in 2025, the Peru international has recorded eight clean sheets, which is second-most in MLS, including a club-record five-game shutout streak.

Milestone Tracker:

  • Pedro Gallese is five saves away from 500 for Orlando City in all competitions
  • Martín Ojeda and Ramiro Enrique are tied with Chris Mueller for seventh in Orlando City history with 22 goals in all competitions. The two Argentines are both two goals away from catching Dom Dwyer in sixth and three away from Kaká in fifth.
  • Ojeda needs one goal and two assists to become the third player in Orlando City history to reach double-digit goals and assists in the same season.
