Here are five storylines to watch on Saturday as the Lions take on the Fire at Inter&Co Stadium:

Designated Duo

Designated Players Marco Pašalić and Martín Ojeda both provided the assists on midfielder César Araújo’s opening goal in the Lions’ last match against Atlanta United, bringing Orlando City’s Designated Players to 33 combined goal contributions through 18 matches in all competitions. Ojeda leads the team in both goals and assists across all competitions with eight and five respectively and is currently tied in Major League Soccer for third-most goal contributions this season. Pašalić ranks second for the Lions individually in each category across all competitions, adding seven tallies and four helpers in his opening campaign.

Enrique en Racha

Orlando City forward Ramiro Enrique continued his strong run of form for the Lions in the month of May, taking the ball off Atlanta United center back Derrick Williams and beating goalkeeper Brad Guzan to the near post to score his fourth goal in his last seven appearances dating back to May 7. The Burzaco, Argentina, native has found the back of the net in each of his three starts in the month of May. Enrique finished the Lions’ 2024 campaign having scored 12 goals across all competitions and provided three assists.

Defending the Den

The Lions’ Saturday night matchup against Chicago Fire FC is set to take place at Inter&Co Stadium, where they have been dominant in league action so far this season. Orlando City holds a 5-0-2 record in downtown Orlando, scoring 18 goals and only conceding seven goals for a +11-goal differential over its past seven MLS regular season home matches. Designated Player and midfielder Martín Ojeda has scored six goals over those seven contests, including his historic hat trick on May 10 against the New England Revolution.

Dagur Dan Goes Centurion

The next appearance for Orlando City defender/midfielder Dagur Dan Thórhallsson is set to be his 100th for the Lions across all competitions. Since joining arriving in the City Beautiful via transfer from Breiðablik UBK of the Icelandic Besta deild karla, Iceland’s top division, in ahead of Orlando’s 2023 campaign, the Hafnarfjörður, Iceland, native has made 99 appearances and 62 starts, scoring seven goals and providing 10 assists for the Lions across all competitions. To date in the 2025 campaign, Thórhallsson has scored three goals and provided one assist.

Lions Going International

Following a May that will see Orlando City play nine matches in the span of 28 days, the Club will see eight players from every level of the organization represent their respective national teams during the June FIFA international window. Pedro Gallese (Peru), David Brekalo (Slovenia) and Marco Pašalić (Croatia) are all set to represent national teams in their respect FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches, while Alex Freeman received his first U.S. Men’s National Team call-up at the senior level for June camp ahead of the Concacaf Gold Cup. Midfielder Colin Guske and Orlando City B forward Justin Ellis were selected to represent the U.S. U-18 Men’s National Team in the UEFA Friendship Cup. At the Academy level, defender Jackson Platts will join Guske and Ellis for the U.S. in the cup competition in Switzerland, while midfielder Dylan Judelson has been called into Canada’s U-17 training camp in Spain.
