Here are five storylines to watch for Saturday's Decision Day matchup with the New England Revolution:
Decision Day DramaÂ
Everything remains on the line for Orlando City heading into Decision Day. The Lions enter the regular-season finale with a chance to climb as high as seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings and secure a direct spot in Round One of the Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs. Orlando can finish seventh with a victory over New England combined with a Cincinnati loss and a Columbus loss or draw. A Lions win paired with either a Cincinnati loss or a Columbus loss or draw would result in an eighth-place finish and a home Wild Card match at Inter.co Stadium. Any other combination of results would see Orlando finish ninth and open the postseason on the road in the Wild Card round. With playoff positioning hanging in the balance across the conference, Orlando's season destiny will be decided on the final day of the regular season.Â
Seven StraightÂ
Orlando City has already secured its place in the Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs, extending the club's postseason streak to a league-active best seven consecutive seasons. Since first qualifying for the playoffs in 2020, the Lions have established themselves as one of Major League Soccer's most consistent clubs, reaching the postseason every year and advancing to the Eastern Conference Semifinals in each of the past two campaigns. With another playoff berth secured, Orlando will now turn its attention to improving its seeding position and carrying momentum into the Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs.Â
Assist KingsÂ
MartÃn Ojeda enters Decision Day with a chance to stand alone atop another Orlando City all-time leaderboard. The Argentine playmaker is currently tied with club legend Mauricio Pereyra for the most assists in Orlando City history with 47 across all competitions. An assist against New England would move Ojeda into sole possession of first place, adding another milestone to what has already been a historic Orlando City career. Ojeda is not the only Lion climbing the rankings, however, as Iván Angulo enters the weekend with 45 career assists for the club, just two behind the co-leaders. With Orlando's attack continuing to produce at one of the highest levels in MLS, the club's all-time assist race could take another significant turn on Decision Day.Â
Knocking on History's DoorÂ
Orlando City's next goal will carry historic significance. The Lions enter Decision Day one goal shy of matching the Club's MLS regular-season scoring record of 63, established during the 2025 campaign. Orlando has either tied or broken its regular-season scoring record in each of the previous three years, highlighting the club's continued evolution into one of MLS' most potent attacking sides. One more strike on Saturday would place the 2026 team alongside last year's record-setters.Â
Fortress Inter.coÂ
Inter.co Stadium has become one of the toughest places to play in MLS during the second half of the season. Since returning from the summer FIFA World Cup break, Orlando City has posted a 6W-1L-2D record in league matches at home and enters Saturday riding a six-match unbeaten run in MLS play in front of its fans. Across all competitions this season, the Lions own an 11W-5L-4D home record and will look to carry that strong form into the playoffs with one final regular-season match in downtown Orlando.
Milestone TrackerÂ
- MartÃn Ojeda (47) needs one assist to pass Mauricio Pereyra for the club record across all competitions, while Iván Angulo (45) needs two helpers to tie Ojeda and Pereyra.Â
- Daryl Dike (22) is one goal away from tying former Lion Dom Dwyer (23) for eighth on the Club’s all-time scoring charts.
