Meet the opponent: Chicago Fire FC
- Orlando City swept the Revs in 2024, including a first-ever win for the Lions at Gillette Stadium in nine tries. Rafael Santos, Duncan McGuire, and Ramiro Enrique all scored against New England last season, with since-departed star Facundo Torres notching three goals across the two games.
- After starting 0-4-2 against New England under Oscar Pareja, Orlando has won three straight matches, the first time either side has defeated the other three times in a row in the series’ history.
- New England carries its own shutout streak into Orlando this weekend, having not conceded in MLS regular season play over the past 385 minutes, though they did give up a goal in a 2-1 Open Cup win over Rhode Island FC on Wednesday. The Revs have won four straight league games and have allowed the fewest goals of any team in MLS this season.
- DP playmaker and former Landon Donovan MLS MVP Carles Gil has turned back the clock to those halcyon days of 2021, scoring five of the Revs’ nine goals this year. Gil has posted huge numbers against Orlando City in his career, with 6 G/8 A in 11 appearances across all competitions.
- Oscar Pareja and New England head coach Caleb Porter first met back in 2013, when Porter was a rookie head coach in Portland and Pareja was managing the Colorado Rapids. Pareja is 12-6-4 overall against Porter, including 6-1-0 since he took over as Orlando City head coach in 2020.
