Stats & Storylines

- Orlando sits third in MLS in goals with 28, trailing only the San Jose Earthquakes (32) and the Philadelphia Union (30). The underlying numbers say itās no fluke ā the Lionsā attack currently leads the Eastern Conference per Optaās expected goals model, ranking second league-wide behind San Jose.
- Striker Duncan McGuire scored his first goal in MLS since October 2, 2024 on Saturday, finally returning to the scoresheet after a laborious road back from offseason shoulder surgery. Orlandoās center forward group of McGuire, Ramiro Enrique, and Luis Muriel have combined for seven goals over the clubās past six matches in all competitions.
- Midfielder Eduard Atuesta returned from injury in style, assisting McGuireās goal and orchestrating everything from his central position. Atuesta created a game-high three chances, completed 96% of his passes, and won four of his six duels. The Colombian was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday bench for his performance.

Meet the opponent: Atlanta United
- There was no vengeance for Atlanta United last month at Inter&Co Stadium. The Five Stripes sought to avenge a bitter 1-0 defeat to Orlando in the MLS Cup Playoffs last year, but instead were trounced 3-0 in a comprehensive display from the Lions. Luis Muriel, Alex Freeman, and Marco PaÅ”aliÄ all found the back of the net in the win.
- Atlanta has endured an extremely disappointing season, netting just 14 points through its first 15 games after bringing in two Designated Players, including returning star Miguel Almirón, and several other supporting pieces this offseason. The Five Stripes did pick up a huge win on Sunday Night Soccer last weekend, defeating FC Cincinnati 4-2 in their best performance of the 2025 season.
- Almirón has just 3 G/3 A in 14 games this year, primarily playing out of position as an inverted right winger. DP attacking midfielder Alexey Miranchuk, playing mostly in Almirónās usual No. 10 slot in Ronny Deilaās 4-2-3-1, has an underwhelming 1 G/2 A in 1260 minutes, though he did earn both of those assists in the Cincinnati game. Winger Saba Lobjanidze leads the side in assists with five.
- New DP striker Emmanuel Latte Lath, MLSā new record signing, has 5 G/1 A in 14 matches and has gone scoreless in his last eight appearances after a strong start to the season.
