1. After more than a month away from MLS action at Inter&Co Stadium, Orlando City got a much-needed bounce-back victory, winning 3-0 over Nashville SC.
2. It was the fifth straight win for the Lions against Nashville, dating back to October of last year. After three 1-0 wins for Orlando, the last two were both 3-0, back in Nashville this July and now this game tonight. It's also the fifth straight shutout win against the folks from the Music City.
3. After a small break in form, the Summer of Facu returned with a vengeance tonight. Torres was a menace in the attack, leading the Lions in every offensive stat. His first goal came from a sequence he started and finished, playing a give-and-go with Dagur Dan Thorhallsson and finishing with a volley. His second came from good positioning in the box, finding himself wide open late in the match to smash the ball past Joe Willis.
4. Torres also cemented himself in Orlando City history tonight. With his two goals, he has passed Nani for the most goal contributions in Club history with 52. After the game, he said, "To be on the same level of Nani, in terms of goal contributions at this club, is great," and mentioned how he is, "Just enjoying [the run of form] the most I possibly can each and every day."
5. Iván Angulo got the party started with his early goal, helping set the tone for the game. The play started from an interception by MartÃn Ojeda, who picked off the pass from Joe Willis and one-timed the ball to Angulo, who was open in the box. It was an easy, composed finish for the Colombian, who helped let off the pressure that Nashville was putting them under early on.
6. Those first two goals were important for the Lions in the early parts of the game, considering that Nashville was putting a lot of pressure on the Orlando side. It caught the home side a bit off guard, since it was against how Nashville had played in the past. It's expected that things changed since Nashville changed coaches, with BJ Callaghan now in charge, but the visitors were a few inches away from turning the game completely on its head. Thankfully for the Lions, they got two goals in four minutes to change that narrative.
7. Speaking of Ojeda, he helped play a part in both of the Lions first two goals, springing the attack that led to Torres' second goal. The DP has had an underwhelming last few games but looked refreshed with a renewed fire tonight and led the team in chances created with three.
8. Following a two-week break after the Leagues Cup, the Lions now get another week in between games as they will host the New England Revolution on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
