ORLANDO, Fla. (Jan. 15, 2026) – Orlando City SC announced today the transfer of forward and Designated Player Luis Muriel to Junior FC of Colombia’s top division, Liga DIMAYOR. The Lions will retain a sell-on percentage in the event of a future move.

Muriel, 34, made 47 starts in 84 appearances for the Lions across all competitions, scoring 17 goals and providing 18 assists. The Santo Tomás, Colombia, native has 51 appearances for Colombia’s national team, scoring 12 goals for Los Cafeteros across all levels since making his senior international debut June 10, 2012, in a FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Ecuador.
Before joining the Lions ahead of the 2024 campaign, Muriel recorded 151 goals and 73 assists in 471 professional appearances across all competitions, scoring most of his goals during his time in Italy’s Serie A.
