ORLANDO, Fla. (Dec. 20, 2025) – Orlando City SC announced today that forward Tyrese Spicer has signed a new contract, keeping him with the Lions through the 2027-28 season with a club option for 2028-29.

His pace, creativity and commitment have brought a new possibilities and quality to our attack,” said Orlando City SC General Manager and Sporting Director Ricardo Moreira. “We believe he has an incredibly bright future here in Orlando, and we’re thrilled to have him as part of our long-term plans as we continue to push for success.”
Since joining Orlando via trade from Toronto earlier this year, Spicer has made two starts in 12 appearances, scoring two goals and providing two assists across all competitions, including one game-winning helper. The 24-year-old left winger was selected first overall by Toronto FC in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft. Since the start of the 2024 season, he has made 42 appearances and 21 starts across all competitions, including 40 appearances and 20 starts in MLS play. During that time, the Trinidad and Tobago international recorded six goals and one assist for Toronto, with two of those goals coming in Canadian Championship matches.
On the international stage, Spicer has earned 11 caps for the Trinidad and Tobago senior national team, scoring two goals and providing two assists. The Trincity native made his senior international debut on March 21, 2025, in a Concacaf Gold Cup qualification match against Cuba, helping the Soca Warriors to a 2-1 victory.
Prior to being drafted by Toronto, Spicer enjoyed a standout collegiate career at Lipscomb University. Over four seasons with the Bisons, Spicer tallied 29 goals and 18 assists in 57 appearances. In 2023, he was named ASUN Player of the Year after leading the conference with 14 goals and three assists in just 16 matches, scoring in 10 straight games to start the season. He finished as the ASUN leader in multiple categories, including goals, points, shots on goal and game-winners, and led the nation in goals per game.
Spicer earned First Team All-American and All-Region honors from United Soccer Coaches and was a semifinalist for the prestigious MAC Hermann Trophy. His earlier seasons included ASUN First and Second Team selections, with consistent goal contributions each year. Before college, Spicer starred at St. Augustine Secondary School in Trinidad, earning MVP and top scorer honors while helping his team to a North Zone Championship.
Orlando City will open its 2026 campaign in the home opener, presented by Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute, on Saturday, Feb. 21, against Red Bull New York at Inter&Co Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Apple TV. Tickets are available here.
