ORLANDO, Fla. (Nov. 22, 2018) - Orlando City SC has re-signed Abe Valbuena a.k.a. FIFA Abe as the Club’s official eMLS competitor. Valbuena will represent the Club in the eMLS League Series presented by Playstation, the eMLS Cup and in FIFA tournaments around the world in 2019.

“We are thrilled to have Abe back on our team for the 2020 eMLS season,” said Orlando City SC Sr. Director of Content Ed Cahill. “Abe brings a lot of experience to the table and is easily the most passionate person in the room at each event we attend.”

2020 will be Valbuena’s third season competing in eMLS. He has qualified for two knockout rounds, made the 2018 eMLS Cup Quarterfinals, and advanced to the eMLS Cup Semifinal in 2019. Recently, he won the eMLS All-Star Challenge, securing a $5,000 donation to the Orlando City Foundation.

“I’m excited to be representing Orlando City SC for a third season,” said Abe Valbuena. “The goal is to bring home every major trophy possible and I will use all my experiences to help me do that. Let’s get it done!”

The 2020 eMLS season will feature three new MLS clubs — LAFC, Austin FC and Nashville — for a total of 25 players that will be competing in a quest to be crowned the best EA SPORTS FIFA 20 player in North America.

The season will begin in January 2020 with eMLS League Series presented by PlayStation. Each of the two League Series tournaments will be live streamed, with its own trophy lift and opportunity to win prizes. These tournaments will also allow eMLS players to accumulate points to determine seeding for eMLS Cup.

League Series One will take place in Philadelphia on Jan. 10 in conjunction with the Philadelphia Union. League Series Two will be held in Portland on Feb. 15 in conjunction with the Portland Timbers, and eMLS Cup will unfold on March 21 in Austin.
