ORLANDO, Fla. (Feb. 18, 2026) – Orlando City SC has acquired defender Griffin Dorsey from Houston Dynamo FC in exchange for $600,000 in 2026 General Allocation Money (GAM) and $400,000 in 2027 GAM, the Club announced Tuesday. Houston could receive up to an additional $200,000 in GAM if certain performance-based incentives are met and will retain a sell-on percentage in the event of a future move.
In addition, the Lions have signed Dorsey to a new contract through the 2027-28 MLS season, with a club option for 2028-29.

Griffin’s versatility, consistency and mentality make him a strong fit for our group, and we expect his presence to elevate our back line immediately.”
Dorsey, 26, began his professional career with Toronto FC after being selected sixth overall by the Canadian side in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft. Since the start of the 2019 season, he has made 190 appearances across all competitions, scoring 16 goals and adding 24 assists. That includes 132 MLS matches, in which he recorded 11 goals and 15 assists. The Evergreen, Colorado, native played a key role in Houston’s run to the 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup title.
Internationally, Dorsey has represented the United States at the U-20, U-18 and U-16 levels, making 24 youth appearances and scoring six goals. He helped the U-20 squad win the 2018 Concacaf U-20 Championship.
