Orlando City B Draws at FC Cincinnati

OCB Cin Draw

CINCINNATI (August 5, 2017) ā€“ In its third match in eight days, Orlando City B (5-6-10, 25 points) earned a 2-2 draw against FC Cincinnati (8-7-7, 31 points) at Nippert Stadium on Saturday.

ā€œReally disappointed we conceded the goal so late. First few efforts we started really poorly, but then after that we were into a better place when we pulled ahead through Hadji Barry, probably couldā€™ve gone another goal up,ā€ OCB head coach Anthony Pulis said. ā€œAnd then one switch off in stoppage time cost us two points. They worked so hard again tonight, I think they deserve to get three points. But the positive thing is we scored two goals.ā€

First Team players Earl Edwards, Jr., Seb Hines, LĆ©o Pereira, Tony Rocha, Pierre Da Silva, Barry and Kevin Alston, who made his first appearance since May 27, were all featured in OCBā€™s starting XI.  First Team defender Conor Donovan was on the 18-man lineup.

FC Cincinnati opened the scoring in the sixth minute when Kyle Greig headed in a wide cross from Josu. Two minutes later, Cincinnati was awarded a penalty after Zach Ellis-Hayden was shown a yellow card for a foul inside the box, but Edwards made the save.

OCB recovered quickly and leveled the score in the 14th minute, when Austin Martz rocketed in a deflected clearance for his first goal as a Lion.

The match then remained tied until a well-placed long ball from Rocha in the 55th minute landed at the feet of Barry, whose clinical finish gave the Lions a 2-1 lead. It was Barryā€™s team-leading fourth goal of the season.

Despite dangerous attacks from Cincinnati in the second half, the Lions maintained their one-goal advantage for almost the remainder of the game, but a volley from Danni Konig in the second minute of stoppage time tied it.

Orlando City B continues the road trip on Aug. 12 when it visits the Richmond Kickers at City Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET. The Lions then return to Orlando City Stadium on Aug. 16 to host Ottawa Fury FC at 7:30 p.m. ET.
