FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (May 18, 2025) – Orlando City SC (6-2-6, 24 points) defeated interstate rivals Inter Miami CF (6-3-4, 22 points) 3-0 at Chase Stadium on Sunday night. The result extended Orlando City’s unbeaten run to 12 games across all competitions, matching the Club’s all-time record. Luis Muriel and Marco Pašalić scored on either side of halftime before a stoppage-time goal from Dagur Dan Thórhallsson made it three straight results in which the Lions have scored at least three goals and the sixth time this season.

The Lions will next head return to the City Beautiful for Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup action, as they host fellow MLS side Nashville SC in the Round of 16 on Wednesday, May 21. Kickoff from Inter&Co Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. ET, with the match airing live on Paramount+.

Scoring Summary:

43’ Luis Muriel (Pedro Gallese) – ORL 1, MIA 0
After a back-and-forth first half, the Lions struck just before halftime when goalkeeper Pedro Gallese drop kicked a long ball to a sprinting Luis Muriel. Gallese’s pass found Muriel all alone behind the Miami defense, allowing the Colombian to dribble into the box one-on-one with Miami goalkeeper Oscar Ustari and calmly slot the ball into the lower-left corner of the net for the lead.

53’ Marco Pašalić (Martín Ojeda) – ORL 2, MIA 0
Orlando City doubled its advantage just eight minutes into the second half after sustained pressure by the Lions’ attack. Midfielder Martín Ojeda cut the ball back to the middle of the Miami box from the right flank for Marco Pašalić to run onto. The Croatian forward then hit it first time. Despite Oscar Ustari getting his hands to Pašalić’s shot, it slipped through his hands and in.

90+4’ Dagur Dan Thórhallsson (Duncan McGuire, Kyle Smith) – ORL 3, MIA 0
The Lions put the result out of reach when Kyle Smith found a surging Duncan McGuire down the left wing deep into stoppage time. The 2023 MLS SuperDraft pick squared the ball across the six-yard box for Dagur Dan Thórhallsson to tap in his second goal of the regular season.

Head Coach Oscar Pareja:

"Congratulations to our players for such a performance. The discipline, the commitment to the game plan, it was enormous, and they wanted so badly to give this game to the fans and the Club, knowing the importance of it at that moment. What I saw on the pitch was that commitment, in every ball they played, and so they deserve all the highlights, the players today. They played a great game."
