Racing Louisville recently inked Lauren Milliet to a three-year contract running through the 2025 season. Milliet is the second-longest tenured player with Racing and recently became the club’s first to hit 50 NWSL appearances. The Colorado native has played in every Racing match to date, leading the club in all-time minutes. This season, Milliet has played in all 18 regular season matches and has recorded a goal and an assist.  

Recent Form

Racing has lost back-to-back matches and was just recently knocked out of NWSL playoff contention following a 5-1 defeat to the North Carolina Courage. The loss extended the team’s winless streak to 13 matches dating back to their last loss on May 22 over NJ/NY Gotham FC. They are one of only two teams in the NWSL to have two wins or less during the 2022 regular season. 

Who’s Hot

Forward Nadia Nadim leads the team with five goals scored this season. Coming back from an ACL injury, Nadim has seen action in nine games this season, making five starts, and has continued to be a force to be reckoned with. Nadim scored the lone goal for Louisville in their most recent match, hitting the back of the net in the 72nd minute. 

Head-to-Head

This will be the second time the two sides have faced each other in the 2022 regular season. The first time the teams met, they played to a 2-2 draw at historic Daytona International Speedway as part of the first-ever DAYTONA SoccerFest. Racing jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second half, but the Pride mounted a massive second-half comeback with Kylie Strom and Darian Jenkins scoring for Orlando and leveling the match. That game sparked an unbeaten run of seven-straight games for the Pride, before they had it snapped on Aug. 26 in a 2-1 loss to OL Reign.

Lynn Family Stadium will be lit on select days over the next seven weeks with the goal of bringing awareness to three important causes and their action days and months. Soccer Holdings LLC is partnering with Dare to Care Food Bank, The Center for Women and Families and Rotary International to light up Lynn Family Stadium in orange in September in recognition of Hunger Action Month, and in purple in October for Domestic Violence Awareness Month and World Polio Day. People will notice the lights on six of the next eight Thursdays as well as one Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
