kyo city v nj 2018 pt 1

Orlando City returns home for the fourth match of the season to face New York Red Bulls. The Lions are in search of their first win of the season with a confident Red Bulls visiting for the 1:00 p.m. meeting at Orlando City Stadium. Here is everything you need to know about New York Red Bulls:

Key Departures

City fans will surely know one key departure from the Red Bulls, and that’s because he’s suiting up for us now. Sacha Kljestan. Another key departure was that of Felipe Martins in the midfield who was shipped off to Vancouver in a trade. Those two MLS vets were key pieces to their puzzle but with new acquisitions and Jesse Marsch at the helm, the Red Bulls haven’t slowed down since 2018 started.

New Faces to Watch

We know about Bradley Wright-Phillips and Luis Robles, but there’s a fresh crop of new guys in Jersey to keep your eyes on. Red Bulls replaced Sacha with a new number ten from Argentina, Alejandro Gamarra, also known as Kaku. The Jersey side then added Tim Parker in the move for Felipe Martins to bring a key piece to their backline and brought in Marc Rzatkowski to add another attacking midfield piece to the machine.

Form

The Red Bulls are… red hot. The team is sitting third in the Eastern Conference, but their form can be considered ā€˜red hot’ due to their extended run in the CONCACAF Champions League where they dismantled Club Tijuana 2-0 in Mexico and 3-1 at home.

Head-to-Head

Last year City and Red Bulls met twice, once at Orlando City Stadium and once at Red Bull Arena. The two sides swapped home wins.
